XBlaze on Leopard
October 27th, 2007 Jasarien
Hey guys,
Just thought I’d mention that I upgraded to Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard yesterday, and I can confirm that XBlaze is working (for me at least). If you have any trouble, or questions, don’t hesitate to contact me.
I’ll think about putting up some screenshots of XFlame (a standalone Mac OS X XFire Client) in the near future. Hopefully I’ll make a little progress.
So far, XFlame can do basically everything that XBlaze can do and somethings that XBlaze can’t (like nickname changing). It doesn’t require Adium to run.
I’m working on getting an ‘info-view’ kinda thing working that will display some additional info about a buddy, like their avatar icon, a link to their profile, etc.
As a footnote, I installed XCode 3.0 along with Leopard and it’s taking some getting used to. Apple changed the way a few things work, so I’m still getting to know my way around the new XCode and Interface Builder.
XBlaze 0.8.2.1
October 11th, 2007 Jasarien
XBlaze 0.8.2.1 has just been uploaded.
This fixes the connection issue that has recently started happening.
I also included an updated xfire_games.ini and icon files as a treat.
Fixed!

HUZZAH! It was just a simple IP change. I’ve updated the plugin (and the standalone) and everything seems to be working. I’ll get the plugin uploaded ASAP.
Just as I begin making progress with the standalone client, I find out that a recent Xfire Update has somehow broken XBlaze.
I’m not 100% on the details just yet, but it would seem that Xfire have changed something on their end that is preventing XBlaze from connecting. I’ll talk to the XFireLib team and see if they know anything.
I’ll keep you posted.
Back from Atlanta!

Hey guys, I’m back from atlanta, as the title suggests.
Unfortunately my internet connection at home is down and has been for a while. I’m typing this on my iPod touch at university.
I just want to make it known that I am making some progress with the standalone xfire client, and a beta should be in the works soon.
Btw, the iPod touch is awesome.
