Progress
Hey guys.
This is just a small post to let you know that I haven’t just been neglecting XBlaze. In fact I’ve been making some progress.
Before Kainjow discontinued XBlaze, he started work on a small standalone client. It is included in the source, and I have been taking a look at it.
I think some of you will be happy know that I’ve taken the liberty of continuing this standalone client, and I have been making some good progress with it.
Above you can see a very brief preview of what I’ve been working on.
So far I’ve been able to implement a few features that make the client almost usable:
- Connection
- Buddy List (Shows nickname, status and game being played)
- Change Status (also updates in real-time on the buddy list)
- Change NickName (also updates in real-time on the buddy list, and wasn’t implemented in the XBlaze Plugin for Adium)
- Adding Buddies
- Removing Buddies
I think the next thing I’m going to be working on the near future will be implementing sending and receiving messages. At present, when a message is received, a small note is made in the Developer Console detailing the username of the person who sent you the message and the message they sent. Although the Developer Console is only viewable when running the app within Xcode.
So that’s it. I hope something big will come out of this.
