Hey guys,
Just released XBlaze 0.8.5.
This release fixes a crash upon creation of a new account when using Adium 1.2.0.
It also contains some icon and games list updates.
If you made any changes to your macgames.txt file then I suggest you back it up before upgrading as it’ll get overwritten.
Hey guys, 0.8.4 is available for download. This release includes the fix for disconnecting and reconnecting again without problems.
The issue was that the Buddy List wasn’t being deleted properly on disconnect. But that’s all in the past now. Thanks to Jordan, (Xfire Plus) for helping me track this one down.
Head on over to the download page to grab it.
Once again, I’ve repackaged XBlaze 0.8.3 with the latest icon and xfire_games.ini files. Hit the downloads page to get it.
(Just download, mount the DMG and double click the plugin to re-install. After that your icons and xfire_games.ini should be up to date).
As a side note, those who have customised their macgames.txt files, you should back it up before downloading and reinstalling the plugin if you don’t want it over written. Sorry about that…
Hey guys got a new release for you today.
You’ll be happy to know that this release fixes the annoying 256 buddy limit bug. You should all direct your thanks to Jordan Toor (gammasts) of Xfire Plus for this fix
Head on over to the download page to get your hands on it.
Remember, don’t hesitate to contact me if you require help.
XBlaze 0.8.2.1 has just been uploaded.
This fixes the connection issue that has recently started happening.
I also included an updated xfire_games.ini and icon files as a treat.
I’ve re-bundled XBlaze 0.8.2 with the new xfire_games.ini, macgames.txt and the newest icons from the official Xfire client.
The macgames.txt file has had some new addition courtesy of Nate from the forums. Thanks go to him.
Just download XBlaze again to update.
You should now have the most up to date icons and game lists from Xfire.
On a side note, I’m working on a simple way to update icons and game lists without having to download the whole plugin over again. I first tried with an Automator workflow, but I think an AppleScript might be the best direction to go in. I’ll keep you posted.
I’ve put up XBlaze 0.8.2 up for download. This version have a new xfire_games.ini file, and icons for the new games.
As fate would have it, as soon as I made the post below, I had a thought that might fix game detection in 0.8.
Some might recall that one of 0.8’s new features was the ability to be able to set a status message without being marked as away by Adium.
Unfortunately, the hack that I used to achieve this broke the game detection.
I have now removed the hack, which has restored game detection, but now setting any status message will mark you as away in Adium.
This doesn’t affect the people on your list using Windows. The Windows Xfire client will still see your status message as any normal status message - it only affects other people on your list who are using XBlaze. Other XBlaze users will see you marked as Away when you have a custom status message.
The other feature, real-time nickname updates, is still intact and is working fine.
I’ve also included the new games files, and new icons too - so the newer games will be detected also.
Since I removed the status feature from 0.8 I decided to number this as Version 0.8.1 - it’s a revision of version 0.8.
0.8.1 can be downloaded from the Downloads page, along with the source if you’re that way inclined.
I have been receiving increased reports that game detection is non-functional in XBlaze 0.8 and to some extent in XBlaze 0.7.
I am working on the issue, and I believe I’m coming closer to the problem.
For now, I will offer XBlaze 0.6 for download again, since version 0.6 doesn’t seem to suffer from these issues.
Something I changed between 0.6 and 0.8 must have affected game detection.
The 0.6 download includes an updated xfire_games.ini file and the current up-to-date macgames.txt file. This will allow support for newer games such as Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars.
Discuss this in the forum.
So I made another small change in Xblaze. This one is thanks to =HT=Gamma from XFirePlus.
Previously, any status message you set would have set you as “Away”. I’ve changed this so that you will not be set as Away unless your status message is “(AFK) Away From Keyboard”. Only then will you be set away.
This means you can now set iTunes as your status message without being marked as away, and any other custom message too.
